Constituent Compact
Below, you will find Chris’s commitment to the constituents of the 60th District to remain involved and engaged with the community. It is his steadfast commitment to implement these fact-collecting and communication mechanisms should Chris receive the distinct honor of serving the district.
It is uncommon to find a candidate that clearly lays out realistic mechanisms for doing what successful representatives do best—listen and maintain direct dialogue with those they serve. Here is Chris’s steadfast commitment to best serve the district and hear what you have to say.
This commitment has already begun. Join the facebook fan page, tweet Chris on twitter, comment on the youtube videos and flickr photos. We want to know what challenges you face and how Chris can help.
- Guaranteed response from the office regarding letters, emails and calls
- Utilize social networking media to keep citizens well informed and up-to-date on happenings (Facebook and Twitter)
- Monthly town hall meetings (each month a different topic at a different location)
- “Stand in my shoes for a day” initiative to follow around a different constituent each month at their place of employment
- Constituent dinners each month (5-6 randomly selected from calls or letters to meet for dinner at a downtown restaurant to discuss the issues of concern).
- Walk neighborhoods and go door-to-door even when its not campaign season
- Maintain a user-friendly & constituent-driven website with a frequently updated blog from the House floor. Furthermore, the website will show how Chris voted on each issue (along with descriptive rationale for why he voted the way he did).
- Provide open office hours to the public once per week within the district.
- Constituents can sign up for a quarterly e-mail newsletter
